2012 Internships

Mid-year internships

2012 mid-year internships in Singapore office - Students from Singapore universities

These are open to law students from Singapore universities who have completed their first year of study. There are two placements available, each for 2 weeks. In the year 2012, the dates are as follows:-

  • 7 to 18 May 2012
  • 21 May to 1 June 2012

2012 mid-year internships in Hong Kong office- Students from Singapore universities

Placements in our Hong Kong office will be available to law students from Singapore universities who have completed their first year of study. There are two placements available. For the year 2012, the dates are as follows:
  • 3 July to 27 July 2012

2012 mid-year extended placement in Singapore office - Students from Singapore Management University

This placement is open to law undergraduates from Singapore Management University (SMU) who have completed their second year of study. There are 2 placements available for 5 weeks each. For the year 2012, the dates are as follows: 
  • 30 April to 1 June 2012
  • 4 June to 6 July 2012

2012 mid-year placements in Singapore office - Students from universities outside of Singapore

These are open to law students from universities outside of Singapore who have completed their first year of study. There are four placements available, each for 3 weeks. For the year 2012, the dates are as follows:
  • 18 June to 6 July 2012
  • 9 July to 27 July 2012
  • 30 July to 17 August 2012
  • 20 August to 7 September 2012
We will be accepting applications for all mid-year internships until 11 March 2012. Successful applicants will be informed by the end of March 2012.

Year-end internships

2012 year-end internships in Singapore office - Students from Singapore universities

These are open to law students from Singapore universities who have completed their first year of study. There are two placements available, each for 2 weeks. In the year 2012, the dates are as follows:-
  • 10 to 21 December 2012
  • 31 December 2012 to 11 January 2013
We will be accepting applications for 2012 year end internships throughout the month of September 2012. Successful applicants will be informed by the end of October 2012.
 

2013 Internships

Start-year internships

January / February 2013 internships in Singapore office - Students from universities outside Singapore

These are open to law students from any university outside Singapore, although the timing of the slot is calculated to suit those from universities in Australasia. There are two placements available, each for 3 weeks. The dates for these placements are as follows:
 
7 January to 25 January 2013
28 January to 15 February 2013
 
We will be accepting applications for the January / February 2013 placements throughout the month of October 2012. Successful applicants will be informed by the end of November 2012.
 

Application process

Please send your application via Norton Rose Job Portal by the deadlines at the attached link:
 
Under "Role", please choose "Internship/Vacation/Seasonal/Stagiare"and "Job location" is "Singapore." except for the internship location in Hong Kong where you should choose “Hong Kong”.
 
Applications should include a full academic history and details of work experience, if any. National Service and volunteer work etc would count as work experience. 
 

Note:

For the above internship programmes, successful applicants will sit with a partner or of counsel and gain first-hand knowledge of how we work. They will be given the opportunity to assist in any current legal matters we are working on. They will also be able to meet up with trainees on secondment from our London office. 
 
Interns will be responsible for their own accommodation and travel arrangements. They will be provided with an allowance of S$60 per working day for daily transport and meals except for "2012 mid-year extended placement in Singapore office - Students from Singapore Management University" where interns will be paid an allowance of S$1,000 for the 5 weeks.
 
All offers are conditional upon the student obtaining the necessary immigration clearances. Norton Rose (Asia) LLP may assist with this process, but the responsibility to obtain the necessary permits lies with the student.
